About Us

Hello,

My name is Ryan Cote. I am a Registered Maine Guide and owner of Backcountry Guide Service. At 10 years old my father bought me my first shot gun and took me hunting.  I can remember most of November as a child was spent in the woods, freezing on a tote road or huddled up in a tree stand waiting for a chance at the elusive 10 pointer my dad seemed to always see but was never able to get a shot off!  At 13 I finally took my first deer, a 130 pound doe, to me she was that 10 pointer.  I have been hooked ever since!  

As I got older and I started taking my kids hunting I realized that not only did I have a passion for hunting, I also had a passion for taking people hunting.  I decided that it was time to get my guides license and share my love for the outdoors. At Backcountry Guide Service I can’t promise you a successful hunt, but I can promise you that I will give you 100% trying to make it successful.   

When I’m not guiding I work full time as a firefighter/ lieutenant, part time as an AEMT and on call as a fire lieutenant in my home town. In appreciation for all of you who work in fire/ ems/ police or are a veteran I offer a 15% off discount.
